I have plugged up ears. Diagnosed with URI several days ago. Had to fly before cleared up. Now my ears are plugged and nothing that I have tried has worked yet. It has been 36 hours since I have flown. (that day I had to fly 5 different aircraft to get to my destination). hg
Understanding your concern. As per your query clogged sensation in the ears are pointing towards a condition known eustachian tube dysfunction as eustachian tube is a small tube that connects middle ear to oral cavity and balance the pressure between the two and due to flight and other pressure imbalance occurs in pressure. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and get complete examination of your ear canals and eardrums, and your nasal passages and the back of your throat. Doctor may also prescribe decongestant to reduce the swelling of the lining of the tubes , antihistamine and antibiotics. Avoid excessive blowing from nose. Doctor may also implanting pressure equalization tubes .
