What Causes Clogged Ears And Sensitiveness In Cheekbone?
I ve recently had a throat infection as well as an ear infection I was prescribed clarithromycin for 10 days I have 2 days left, I feel better however my ears are clogged and I can barely hear, I am still congested, and my cheekbone area is sensitive. I am not sure if I should return to the emergency Department?
As per your query you are having Clarithromycin for clogged ears and throat infection which is causing cheek bone sensitivity and ear congestion in you which is a common adverse effect with this medication. Need not to panic about it. You are having symptoms of otitis interna .
I would suggest you to start this, gently rinse the ear using a bulb syringe and warm saline solution. To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad . You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain.
Visit general practitioner and explain your symptoms for alternative medication or if same medication then get rechecked its dosage. If your symptoms persist then Eustachian tubes dysfunction needs to be ruled out, which can cause fullness in the ears and tinnitus.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
