What Causes Clear Mucus Discharge In Nose While Drinking Something Hot?

Since the middle of May, when I eat or when I drink something hot, or when I wake in the morning and have been standing, I have a thick clear mucus in my nose. I ve never had this problem before. What might be the problem? It doesn t seem like an allergy; at least, I m not aware of anything like food or pollen that might be triggering the mucus.

It happens in this season due to hot and humid weather. Nasal mucosa gets irritated and discharges the mucous from its mucous secreting glands which become triggered and overactive.


Take Loratadine, and start nasal douches with warm saline water thrice daily. It will soothe the mucosa and you will feel definitely better. Use humidifier in room which produces cold mist. Apply vaseline in nasal cavities.
