What Causes Clear Liquid Discharge From Wound?

Im pregnant and my feet have been Very swollen My left one the most in particular and my leg feels tight and it hurts. earlier in the day i accidentally caught my left foot in my rooms door and it left a deep cut and now this watery clear liquid keeps leaking from it. What is that clean liquid ?

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Whenever any swelling occurs on the body the reason behind it is that the excess water in body goes in 3rd space or places like ankle, presacral region and other gravitational dependent places and gets accumulated there.
If in the swelled places there occurs any injury or if the fluid inside gets access outside, it will start draining just as in your case.
The clear liquid coming out of the injury is nothing but the accumulated fluid which has caused the swelling.
Unless the fluid gets emptied or the swelling decreases it will keep coming out from the site.
There is as such nothing to be worried about but if you are not comfortable with it kindly consult a doctor as it will require tight plaster application so as to pressurize the place so as to stop the fluid seepage.
