What Causes Clear Discharge While Treating A Yeast Infection?
Hello I had a pretty bad yeast infection last week with a little blood. It went away after three days with over the counter medication. Today it feels as though I m on my period but when I wiped it is thick clear discharge, no smell, with streaks of blood, blood clots and what looks like tissue. Should I be concerned?
You have been suffering from yeast infection. You are also having streaks of blood, blood clots with the discharge. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene. Wash and dry it completely after sweating. Avoid the use of perfumed soaps which may cause irritation. Do not douche. Wearing loose-fitting cotton underwear to prevent moisture buildup in the genital area.
Get STD tests to rule out or detect trichomoniasis, PID, STI, etc. Apply miconazole cream locally on the affected area for relief. You can take a course of oral antifungal (Fluconazole). You can see blood clots and streaks of blood in the discharge, additional flushing may be required to complete the cycle. No worries. Get clinically examined by an OBGYN, you will be accordingly treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
