What Causes Chronic Vomiting And Low Grade Fever In A Toddler?
Hello, my daughter (3yrs) was vomiting on Friday consistently until it was down to bile. Then she stopped vomiting and I began giving her water and pedialyte so she could replenish. She got a fever shortly thereafter and has had a low fever for two days. Before the vomiting began I noticed that she had a runny nose (clear) for a few days, but blowing her nose has been unsuccessful. Other symptoms include a cough with phlegm and she is very fatigued and in fact sleeping all day. Will this pass? I was thinking that it might be a stomach flu?
She is suffering from viral infection and due to that, she has all such symptoms. She needs antibiotic coverage and anticough medication for few days. Take her to emergency room so that they can properly evaluate her and prescribe accordingly medicines. There is no need to worry. She will be fine in one to two weeks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar,
