What Causes Chronic Hoarseness Of Voice?

60 yo wf, nonsmoker, healthy, 130 lbs. No allergies. Chronic clear or pearly phlegm in throat and lungs for 6 months. Chronic hoarseness, worse some days than others (sad because I sing with a band). No other symptoms. Have tried Mucinex, apple cider vinegar, vitamin D, mullein supplements, lots of water. I don t think it s acid reflux. Would nodules on my vocal cords cause excess phlegm and constant clearing of the throat? I feel fine, but have a phlegmy cough about once an hour. Lymph nodes intermittently sore, sore throat once in a while, always goes away. No other symptoms. Haven t missed work--I feel fine otherwise.

Hello,

It may be due to laryngitis.

For that you may require complete hemogram, throat swab after ENT consultation.

You may require antibiotics after consultation.

Continue Saline or Betadine gargles twice a day.

Keep your self hydrated

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
