What Causes Chronic Headaches In An Elderly Person?

My 77 year old mother complained last week of a pain on side of neck that went from sinus, teeth, jaw, neck, and ear, and pressure on her eye. This is all on right side. She is now feeling like her head is going to explode...lots of pressure and pain. The E.R. doctor was not helpful at all. He sent her home iwth muscle relaxers and painpills. She has an MRI scheduled for Monday. This is Saturday. I m worried for her. My mom is not a person to get headaches. She hardly ever has a headache, and never a really really BAD headache.

Possible causes for headache in this age is migranous headache or temporal arteritis or sub arachnoid hemorrhage or occipital neuralgia or cluster headache etc. Use ice packs , use pain killer medication. She may need CT brain immediately.
