What Causes Chronic Diarrhea?

About 4-5 days ago I have had severe diarrhea and wondered if it is a bug or possibly related to some new supplements I am taking. The smell is very strong accompanied by some gas. No fever or other symptoms other than bloating. I am 53 and going through menopause. I am taking black clash, b-complex, omega 3, bingo balboa in am and black clash, melatonin and magnesium at night. Am also internecine for a toe fungus. Tried pepto and imodium

Severe diarrhea you are having the last 5 days are suggesting of possible acute viral bug. If you're been taking the supplements for long time now, then, it's not related to their side effects. I advise to :

- Keep well hydrated and consume plenty of fluids (plain water with oral rehydration salts)
- Take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
- Take antacids to stabilize stomach acidity
- Follow a bland diet (banana, rice, apple sauce, toast)
- Do not take the supplements like black clash, gingko bilboa, omega-3 until betterment
- Take tasectan or pepto bismol to stop diarrhea. If still not improving in a couple of days, should consult further with your doctor as you might need further diagnostic tests and prescription meds.
