Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My coworker has had diarrhea and vomiting consistently for the past 6 months. He had a colonoscopy last week with came back clean bu the vomiting persists. On Monday his eyes and skin was turning yellow...... what’s wrong with him and is he contagious?
He may be suffering from chronic hepatitis or cholecystitis or obstructive jaundice. If it is viral etiology means, then it is contagious. Hepatitis A, E viruses mostly spread through fecoral route. Hepatitis B, C spread through sharing needle or blood transfusion mostly. Other possibilities like alcoholic hepatitis, autoimmune hepatitis etcetera. Please consult your gastroenterologist he will investigate and treat him accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
