Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I’m 66 years old, good health, no chronic conditions except managed BP. trying to decide if I need to seek care- I have a cough that has developed a slight “croupy” sound to it. Cough is increasing but not “sick”, just tired from coughing. Any thoughts? How to know when to seek care?
A cough is a protective reflux, and there are many causes of it. Respiratory causes are the main cause for a cough like bronchitis. Acid reflux also can lead to a chronic cough. I need detail clinical history and any reports if done for giving more comment. Chest x-ray, spirometry, EKG investigation will be beneficial to reach up to diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
