What Causes Chronic Burning Sensation And Pressure In The Bladder?

For 4 months I have had what was thought to be prostate infection. Over 3 months was on 5 different antibotics, Now no sign of infection but still have burning and bladder pressure. Have been scoped with no stones present. Also CT with dye show no stones. I recently came down with a case of gout in my foot. I have a history of gout but haven t had a major flare up in 25 years. Could my symptoms be caused by the uric acid level being high?

Hello,

Since you have a history of gout and elevated level of uric acid, the burning sensation and urgency to urinate is triggered due to it. Uric acid level in excess causes the formation of the crystals in the urinary tract, a factor to cause burning sensation and frequent need to urinate. However, since you had prostrate infection you are suggested to do routine urinalysis (R/E and C/S) so that you can be treated in time.

Take plenty of water and avoid red meat, high protein diet. Take more of fruits, veggies, berries and whole cereals. Take low purine food. Maintain healthy weight. Avoid sugar, alcohol and addictions if any. Do regular exercises. For relief from pain you can take NSAIDS, one SOS when required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
