What Causes Choking After Eating Food And How To Avoid This?

My throat often gets choked after eating food at night. I feel suffocating and like dying. When I burp then I feel fine.
I take antacids to control acidity but its of no use for me for such problem. There is no problem with my esophagus. I dont drink and smoke.
Kindly suggest how can i avoid it.

HI
Well come to HCM
Your concern is highly appreciated, if this is the swallowing difficulty then it could be due to esophagus condition in my opinion the most common condition is GERD (Gastoesophagus reflux disease).
If I would be doctor of this case then I would treat this case with PPI (proton pump inhibitor ) and the best drug of choice is Tab Omeprazole 40 mg with Domperidone 20 mg once in day, better to take it in evening time, and it has to be continued for six weeks.
Advise:- It could be due to gastric acid reflux but differential diagnosis can not be neglected and for that I would advise to get done the barium swallow study and CT imaging.
hope this information helps.
