What Causes Chills Through Out The Day?

I experience chills throughout the day & night & icy cold feet primarily during the evening and night. I do not have diabetes. Beginning about 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis & take 1.2 gms Lialda pills - 2in a.m. & 2 in p.m. Sometimes, I have hot flashes during the 24 hours (appx. 20% of the time), but chills, appx. 80% of the time. I experience icy feet about 80% of the time & very hot feet about 20% of the time. My fingers are also frequently icy. I went to a neurologist & was diagnosed w/peripheral neuropathy, but was told there was no treatment other than something to dull the pain. I would very much like to know what causes this. I am a 71 year old female...work fulltime & average 8500 steps a day. All lab work is within acceptable range except for creatinine which is 1.01 and eGFR is 56. I am not receiving any treatment for this. I would very much appreciate your input on what is possibly causing the cold feet & fingers & chills. Thank you.
