Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 36 years old and began having chills two nights ago after an exhaustive day of cleaning out a house that was vacated by the death of his uncle. The cold/flu like symptoms continued throughout yesterday and this morning he woke to a coughing spasm. Although he isn t coughing constantly, he told me when he does have a coughing spell he experiences a shooting pain down his arm. Do you think he should take a cough suppressant, and expectorant or other means of addressing this issue

What Causes Chills And Chronic Cough?
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Yes, definitely he should start the medication. An antihistamine also, as he seems be having allergic bronchospasm. I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Take care.
