What Causes Chest Swelling After A Fall?

I jumped on a chainlink fence to break up a dog fight and hooked the triangle part under my ribs. My chest swelled double on that side. I had to sleep sitting up for 4 days. I couldnt drive open doorsift a gallon jug of milk or even turn without going through the roof. Years later that side has always stayed bigger. Never went to the doctor and im fine. But ive always wondered if i just popped the cartridge or maybe cracked it. Ive actually torn the cartridge from my ribs before on the same side but it just didnt hurt this bad.

Hello,

Trauma to chest can lead to blunt injury to soft tissues or ribs or cartilages. I suggest you to consult an orthopedist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations like X-ray chest and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
