What Causes Chest Pain?

Hi...a 67 year old gentleman with history of a MI and hx of three stents and hx of autoimmune hepatitis recently went to ER because of chest pain. Heart cath was done and reportedly okay. Echocardiogram and EKG and lab work was good. The hospitalist says this is not heart related but diagnosed as unstable angina and added isosorbide and pepcid to his medications. This past winter a EDG procedure was okay other than some irritation from prescribed daily aspirin. This gentleman continues to have chest pain and he states it feels as though his heart is bruised from the chest pain. Can you assist in providing possible cause for the chest pain. This gentleman is retired and has had no trauma to his chest area.

hi,
a ct scan of thorax with hrct is advisable to rule out other causes of chest pain, this could be due to reflux esophagitis too,you can try pepcid-d instead of plain pepcid.
