What Causes Chest Pain, Fever, Sinus Headaches And Diarrhea?

I run a constant low grade fever. Sinus headaches, ear ache, body aches, nausea. ENT sent me Rx for Clindamycin HCL 150 MG. Felt better at first, diarrhea is severe, bowels are liquid and stomach burns. I dring a lot of water and getg some relief. I have dropped 7 lbs in 3 days. My chest hurts...heart? Do I continue antibiotic? I have been going to Dr for past 2 years. Never sees any fluid in ear, however when I was 6, my eardrum burst and ran puss and blood after the Dr. could not find anything... said did not think I had mumps.. did not see infection in ear. What is going on. Constant ringing... fatigue going from wanting to sleep all thetime to unable to sleep.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suspect you may be suffering from Clostridium difficile. Your symptoms of low-grade fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps are those of Clostridium.

Clindamycin is one of the antibiotics that most often causes it. You should stop taking clindamycin immediately and take lots of fluids and water to get hydrated. Maybe you need to take metronidazole to fight this infection. Also, you may need to take antihistamines such benadryl or cetirizine for sinus congestion. Also, you can use pseudoephedrine and corticosteroid like flonase to get rid of sinusitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
