Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have been experiencing a mild, aching chest pain for the past 2 days. the pain has decreased. I only really feel it when i move certain ways. But I have not taken part in any activity that i think could cause this. it s on my left side. And my thumb on my left side was spasming on and off yesterday. i am only 27, should i be worried that this is a heart issue? the pain is mostly in my clavical area leading out to my shoulder. I also feel that there may be some weakness in my left arm/hand
This is very unlikely to be cardiac pain. Pain in a young man with no risk factor, (like diabetes, hypertension etc.) is extremely unlikely to be cardiac in origin. The pain being more with certain positions, and the spasm in the thumb make it very very likely to be a musclular pain. Soi dont think any thing sound serious. Just relax, take some pain killer, and massage for the pain relief.
Still just to be safe, if you feel any shortness of breath, or sweating, or fee very sick you should see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
