48 yr old female 5 weeks post lap cholecystectomy. At 1 week post op appointment, I began experiencing severe chest pain, shortness of breath, elephant standing on my chest. I told the surgeon but he said it was likely from the gas they filled my abdomen up with at surgery time and would subside. I then ended up in the ER 2 weeks later from the same pain symptoms. they ran a bunch of tests, CT scan, Chest Xray, Echo, EKG but found nothing. Followed up with my RA doc who put me on a 2 week prednisone taper and albuterol inhaler, to treat if RA in the lungs. It seemed better after 4 days for a week then when done with treatment, it returned and I still have the same symptoms with no relief. My surgeon says he doesn t think it is post cholecystectomy related or to clips left inside from clips. But so far they haven t been able to diagnose it. Any ideas or help? I m stuck waiting for 2 months for a cardio referral appointment.
