General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
* Buspar is a relaxant medicine , fit for long term use. It starts to be effective after some time ( say up to 2 weeks ). So wait for at least 2 weeks to draw some conclusion about the effect.
The symptoms are likely to be exaggerated in early days . Your symptoms of being snappy might be out of this.
To be patient & take medicine regularly at same time of the day and same way ( with or without food )- helps in getting better effect.
* Now about your chest pain. Consult your family physician for this.. looking for it's origin to be cardiac. It can also be due to low calcium/ vitamin D - which can be corrected by supplements.
The cause of pain being excluded ot treated properly... your anxiety & pain would be controlled.
Thanks.
