What Causes Chest And Back Pain After Taking Medrol?

I have taken Medrol for 15 days and have chest & back pain. Do I need to stop the medication and do I stop it right off or does it need to be done gradually? It was given to me by a Rheymatologist for Erythema Nodosum on both my legs. Tests were made leading towards a posibility for Sarcoidosis.

Dear patient
Medrol is corticosteroid type of drug and has side effect of gastritis and osteoporosis. Pain of gastritis may be perceived as heart burn and may be referred to back. Are you getting sour taste in mouth and acid reflux? If yes diagnosis of gastritis is more likely. I would advise start tab pantocid 40mg twice a day before meals for 7 days. Do not stop tablet medrol abruptly as it is associated with severe side effects and recurrence of symptoms. Medrol has to be stopped gradually over period of 15 days. If you were taking medrol twice a day then reduce night dose to half for 5 days. Then take half tablet twice a day for 5 days followed by half dosage in morning for 5 days and then stop. All the best.
