Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had severe pain and pressure in my left lower abdomen. CT scan showed I had a cyst on my left ovary and calcification in my left falopian tube. There was also free flowing fluid in my uterus. I have had two cysts removed in the past and a dermoid tumor. I was post menopause at the age of 34. I have not bled in 6 years. I have some spotted blood. There is breast cancer in my family and a cousin who had a full hysterectomy at the age of 21 but I am not sure which cancer. What is calcification? And I think it is a good idea to have a hysterectomy also. Can you tell me what might have caused the calcification and do you agree with me on having the full hysterectomy?

What Causes Calcification In The Fallopian Tube?
Hello, Calcification means calcium deposition in the organ. You have to check your serum calcium level, if it is high then also calcification can occur. Degeneration of tissue or chronic inflammation also can be responsible for calcification. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
