What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat While Breathing?
all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago, it started to burn deep in my throat/upper chest when i breath in. Especially when I breath in deeply. then it causes me to cough reflexively. I am not sick, there is no mucus involved, i am not a smoker, nor obese. I am relatively healthy and i am 44 years old. i take hypothyroid and cholesterol lowering medications and I have for a long time. Its just strange.
Burning sensation in throat and upper chest while breathing can be due to gastric esophageal reflux. The gastroesophageal reflux can lead to cough also.
I suggest you to take proton pump inhibitors (PPI) for 15 days and then observe the symptoms. If the symptoms persist then you need to consult your ENT specialist.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
