What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat And Nausea?
I have a burning in my throat and feel nauseous. It helps to eat something and I feel better walking then I do sitting. Feels like I have something in my throat and can bring up mucus sometimes. Also had a bit of diarrhea last week for two days. Any suggestions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of burning sensation in the throat and nausea is because of strep throat which is due to streptococcal infection and it could be due to tonsillitis. The symptoms can also occur due to side effects of certain medicine or condition like GERD . I would suggest you to take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin for 5 days. You should take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen for relief from pain and inflammation. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily. Do warm saline gargles. Gargle with an antimicrobial mouthwash. You should take steam inhalation with vaporizers , avoid hot , spicy food and eat small meals. Visit ENT specialist once and get throat culture and sputum test done to find out exact cause and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist . You should avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
