Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In The Throat And Chest?
I have general malice, a burning I my throat and chest area. 4 weeks ago I had a cough with congestion, no runny nose. I took zithromycin and didn t really help. No temp at present. At night I am taking a loratadine and sometimes a decongestion. I have no real cough. Just occasionally.
I understand your concern for burning in the throat and chest. There are various causes for that. But your condition is something innocent. It is most likely due to acid regurgitation from your stomach back to mouth burning the esophagus and the chest burning sensation and throat burn.
I would suggest my patients consult a Gastroenterologist for the problem as they are better in that. It is advisable to follow their advice and not to worry a lot.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Azhar Hussain,
Internal Medicine Specialist
