Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my first colonoscopy at 7:30 this morning. All went well except once in recovery my mouth and nose are extremely dry still. They did put the oxygen tubing in my nose for the procedure and I did feel slightly burn I ng immediately in the left nostril but fell under anesthesia quickly. Still no appetite. The extreme dryness makes eating difficult with not much saliva. I ve been drinking water as instructed by my doctor but I really don t think it s dehydration. I was fine before the procedure. Could it have been the oxygen tubing?

What Causes Burning Sensation In The Nostrils?
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern. The symptoms seem to be related to side effects of the oxygen tubing. I suggest using saline nasal spray for local application and drink a lot of liquids. The symptoms will go away on its own in a few days. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again. Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
