What Causes Burning Sensation In Shoulder And Neck?

Profound, almost to the point of being debilitating, burning sensation in shoulders & neck. Aleve only relieves the symptoms for 1-2 hours. This strange sensation has been happening for the last 2 weeks. I had chicken pox as a child, received a shingles shot 2 years ago.
