Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation And Pain Around An Implanon Insert?
I had implanon for 3 years had it removed and 3 months later had another one put in (the same spot as the old one) it s been 2 weeks since having it put in and I am having severe pintching and a burning or stinging sensation at the implant spot. Should I be concerned?
Your symptoms seem to be related to side effects of the implant insertion. Negative side effects usually go away after a few months, once your body gets used to your implant. Meanwhile, I suggest using Ibuprofen for the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
