What Causes Burning Pain In The Nostril After Using Cocaine?

Two people splitting a minimum of 2 grams of cocaine a day. One person experiences severe burning pain in one nostril for anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, where as the other person hasn t experienced that at all. Which leads me to believe it s not something in the Coke but maybe deterioration? What would that be? Is there any way to relieve the pain aside from more Coke which makes it worse obviously.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Cocaine is a strong vasoconstrictor. This means in constricts the blood vessels in the nose and can cause damage and even ulcers or holes in nasal septum.
Everyone reacts differently but the treatment is to stop using the cocaine. Hopefully this will allow the tissues to heal.
Regards
