What Causes Bruising In Whole Knee Cap After A Fall?

I fell on my left knee...right away there was a dark bruise like circular shape. It doesn t hurt while walking or bending, just to the touch...tonight it looks like almost my whole knee cap turning black and blue. I fell on twice before..just wondering if I should have an x ray done to make sure

Hi..

Turning of the knee black and blue after injury is due to bruising and it is due to trauma to superficial Blood vessels leading to spillage of blood into tye soft tissue leading to bruising..

If there is no pain amd discomfort on walking then you need not to worry.

You should do cool compresses over it and apply Thrombophob gel.
Avoid exertion to let it heal soon..
Elevate your leg while lying down by keeping pillow under the feet..

In case if there is worsening consult a Physician and get evaluated..

Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
