Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I stepped on a broken beer bottle a few nights ago and cut my foot in several places. One wound seems to be healing nicely while the other still looks bloody (but hasn't bled since the incident) and is bruising around the pierced area. Is this normal?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that the other wound is also healing as there does not seems to have pain and bleeding from it.. Other thing is that bruising around the area of injury seems to be due to rupture of small blood vessels by getting injured with the glass of the bottle and there is spillage of blood into the soft tissues leading to bruising.. Nothing to worry as there does not seems anything serious and bruising will subside and wound will also heal soon.. You can start cleaning the wound with antiseptic solution and apply antiseptic ointment over it.. You should avoid excess water exposure to the area as well as leave it to dry open.. In case if there is pain or pus discharge consult a Physician and et checked for infection..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
