What Causes Bruising And Pain In Leg?

Hello I fell down some steps whist on holiday about 10 days ago. Initially the shin bone near my knee was red grazed and bruised, however over the last 10 days the bruise has spread to the back of my leg and ankle, it is still quite sore and I can t kneel down on it. Do I need to go and get it x-rayed? Cheryl

Hi,

Since there is no great improvement over s period of 10 days, I will surely recommend to take an X-ray on safety basis. Because if any fracture is there, it cannot be seen by the naked eye of human being and need technology use for confirming it.

As the swelling is not coming down I think its a must you should take the X-ray. In the meantime you can stabilize the leg with crepe bandage and use hot water fermentation.

Post which keep the leg on the pillow while in lying position. This should help swelling to come down. Please take this on a important note to get an X-ray done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
