What Causes Bruises On The Ears And Under The Eyes Post Injury?

My husband fell hit his head weeks ago, refused to go to er... classic battle sign, both ears, bruising under both eyes, seems to be ok ( probably fractured) the egg, was a little squishy, now, the top of his head almost seems domed and is squishy... finally willing to see md but not till friday... any thoughts?
