I have a weird bruise on my lower right side that showed up out of nowhere. It started with a few red lines(like blood lines) under the skin and bruising around it. It got worse then it didn t look as bad on day 3 day 4 it got a lot worse. Day 5 it started having more red to it and there was a line going around to my back also but after a couple hours it faded to just a pinkish line not red like it was. Is this normal of a bruise. The pain feels sharp to stabbing at times
Hi. As per your case history you are having insect bite dermatitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
