What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting?
Hi I am having some strange things going on that I have never experienced. I had unprotected sex the 18th, 26th, and 30th of August and was supposed to be fertile starting the 30th but the weird thing is my period was very odd. I started the 20th (5 days before I was expecting to start) with spotting that disappeared then for the next 2 days there was extremely heavy bleeding more than my normal heavy period then 2 days of spotting brown blood which I never have brown blood after my period. After all that I felt fine for about a week and starting today around 1 pm I started getting menstrual cramps and nausea. The cramping has gone down some but the nausea is still strong. I ve never had cramping randomly like this. My BBT was 96.3 on the 29th then spiked up to 96.8 on the 30th I had unprotected sex that night and my BBT is staying at 96.8 so I m confused if I ve ovulated already or not and I ve taken 2 pregnancy tests that are negative but do you think I could be pregnant?

Brown discharge, a week after period may be due to hormonal imbalance, caused by overdosing of contraceptive pills. Mental stress, the pelvic infection can cause this type of bleeding or discharge. Second thing, the possibility of implantation bleeding is extremely rare in this case and it occurs 5 to 7 days prior to next due date in most cases. Lastly, you have to wait for the next coming period and you can undergo home pregnancy test soon after a missed period. However, blood for a beta-hCG test can be done one week prior to the due date.
