What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?

my neice is 37 weeks pregnant and has a brownish to pale pink discharge.. spotting. this is her first child, should she presume that is the mucus plug comming away? or should she contact her doctor/midiwe, she has low pain in her belly, like the pain you might have before a period starts, that heavy feeling... is this a program or a person?

ooh it has been happening for 2-3 days....

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion as she is term ie.,37 weeks she might be in the preparatory phase for labour.Brown discharge along with pain abdomen mostly suggests that only. Nothing to worry.Observe the fetal movements. If any bleeding or draining via vagina occurs or if pain persists or increases consult gynaecologist and get the examination done to know the status.
