What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Unprotected Intercourse?

I had unprotected sex, and it was my first time taking the morning after pill. After taking the pill, 3 days later I started getting a brownish discharge. My period is now 2 days late. And my period usually comes in the end of the month, what are the chances I could get my period ?

Thanks for the query. I understand the concern.
- In case you had taken Morning after pill within 72 hours of sex... ( earlier the better) it will prevent conception.
- The brownish discharge after 3 days of emergency contraceptive was withdrawal bleeding of the hormones inbuilt in the pills.
- The high hormones in the emergency pill cause temporary hormonal disturbance .. so your periods would be late by 8-10 days this time, & the irregularity is likely to persist for a couple of moths more.
- If you have not sure about time of taking pill/ there is no period after 15 days of expected date/ you strongly suspect pregnancy... go home pregnancy test after 8 days delay in menses .
- In case test is +ve you must get medical termination of pregnancy( for the morning after pill will cause fetal abnormality.
