What Causes Brown Liquid Stools And Abdominal Pain After Eating?

My husbands stool is liquid brown more than half the time he poops. It burns to make a vowel movement after eating slightly spicy food. He also gets severe stomach cramps several times a day - mainly right after eating a meal. He is fairly healthy and we eat at home most of the time. This has been going on for years. Any opinions on what it might be?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your husband having liquid brown stool half the the times he poops, there is burning after eating spicy foods, severe stomach cramps mainly after eating a meal. He is healthy at mainly at home, going on for years, wants opinions.
As per the history you have provided, I would think of intolerance added on with either intestinal infection or irritable bowel syndrome.
The diagnosis is made by either proving a disease or by by ruling it.
I would advise him the following in such a situation:
- Stool tests for three consecutive days.
- Tests of blood: CBC, thyroid function tests
- Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen and CT scan of the abdomen if there is a doubt.
- Colonoscopy
If something is diagnosed specifically, please get it treated accordingly and he will be fine.
I fall the investigations are normal, then get treated as IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome.
I find this answer helpful
