What Causes Brown Freckles On The Ankles?

Brown cluster of freckles at the ankles inside of the leg nothing on the outside. They don t have any texture and smooth to the skin. I regularly wear pants and short socks. I would normally not see these as I am normally tan, but I have recently changed my dress code due to job change being in office now and not the field.

Hi,
Thanks for contacting HCM. Brown discoloration on the inside of the lower legs can be indicative of vein issues not bringing the blood out of the legs as well as they are supposed to. The blood will tend to pool more with inactivity or sitting with the legs down for long periods of time. Generally, people are started off with compression stockings, assuming the arteries are working properly. It would be wise to get a vascular examination in this case.
I hope this answer helps, if you have any other questions, I am here. Thanks.
