What Causes Brown Colored Stool That Smells Like Burnt Rubber In A 20-month-old?

I have a 20 mo old that has stool that smells like burnt rubber. Ive been told to just monitor. Is this normal? She didnt have burnt rubber smelling poops a couple months ago. She acts normal. Its light tan-brown in colour and alternates between solid and pastey.
