What Causes Brown And Red Vaginal Discharge After Stopping Birth Control Pills?

Hello I have a question. I have recently stopped taking my pills (logest) and I had received a period about 4 days after as I normally do when I make a break between taking pills in order to get my period. It has been a little more than a week now that I had that period however I am starting to notice that sometimes when I go to the bathroom I have a white-brown-red discharge only visible after I wipe myself . Just before I stopped the pill I had been intimate with my husband and during that time while taking my pills I did notable them at the same time every day in the same week but at irregular times. However I did make sure that I took them without breaching more than 12h distance. I believe I only took them irrgeularly for about 4 to 5 days. I want to know if that is somehow related or is this discharge only a result of my body trying to get adjusted to not being on the pill anymore or can it be something else?

Hello,

* The stoppage of the OC pills alter the uterine lining changes which were previously set for proliferative phase only because ovulation was inhibited.
* Now as the OC pills effect wears off, the body starts ovulating with LH surge and secretory phase of the menstrual cycle consisting of later 14 days after ovulation period.
* Usually it takes a period of 1 cycle for best adjustment to these changes.
* Be sure to use alternative contraceptive if does not want issue at present.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
