Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
76 year old Husband has broken blood vessels in armpit. History of small cell carcinoma which had metastasized to left axilla. Primary cancer not known. Under treatment with chemo and radiation two years ago. Currently under surveillance by oncologist with last CT done 4 months ago. Should we be concerned about the broken vessels?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM In a cancerous growth, there is formation of many new vessels to nourish cells.that is just a property of cancer.with these new vessels, ulcetation and bleeding is possible. This is probably the cause of his problem since he has a secondary cancer location in ampit. I will advise he continues with his cancer treatment as planned, see your Doctor to stop bleeding or treat wound if any and prevent a possible infection. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
