Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sister went into hospital with sepsis, they sent her home and she receives antibiotics everyday at a nearby hospital. Autoimmune diseases run in my family...she cannot breathe on her own, she wears oxygen...I m so worried. How do you check for lupus? I don t know what the docs are waiting for. Also they found masses in her lung, but said it wasn t cancer...Why are they not performing any tests?
You can undergo “ANA” (antinuclear antibody) test to confirm lupus. Also, you can undergo an HRCT thorax to assess the size and extent of the mass lesion.
You can consult her with a pulmonologist and plan for a biopsy to make a diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
