What Causes Bowel Urgency And Blood In Stool?

My stools have blood that comes out with it. The stools are harder round balls and I thought maybe hemorrhoids although I have no pain and not too much struggle. What concerns me most is I m constantly feeling like I need to pooh and then when I try nothing. Then other times I ll think it s pooh but it s stringy light red that comes out that feels like diarrhea but then it s followed with harder round ball stools. Should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Surely yes, this is a concern as need to go frequently indicates the need for detailed clinical evaluation, examination by a Doctor, per-rectal examination, proctoscopy followed by colonoscopy.
Tests of stool for three consecutive days.
Tests of blood and urine.
This will confirm the cause of your symptoms.
CT scan of abdomen is needed.
The treatment will be as per the findings.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
