What Causes Bowel Incontinence That Cannot Be Sensed Which Causes Pain Around The Vagina?

I have IBS, or Chron s or something similar, but was born with it. Lately I have noticed that I leak feces, and do not even realize it. It seems as though some is coming from the vaginal area, and yes, in the anal area, but nothing in between. What do I ask my doctor about this ?? I have had it for 29 years, getting more out of control with each passing year. I can t take meds, they don t work, or I get every side effect known. I have been to Mayo...... they say there is nothing I can do. The leaking has started that past month, and its horrible, and embarrassing, and frankly, it hurts the vaginal area.

Hi,

As a first line management, you can try laxatives like Lactulose for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
