What Causes Body Tremors After A Surgery?

my son just had surgery 4 days ago and was doing fine, this morning I went to check on him and feel in the shower. he looked dazed and I thought he was shaking a bit. could this have been from the anesthesia or could this be a seizure? he said he felt himself start to pass out.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern. Body tremors following surgery might not be seizures. Generally, following anesthetic medications and surgery, body temperature could decrease a little less than normal (hypothermia), which can cause body tremors. Eventually, it should be restored to normal.

Kindly consult your doctor if it doesn't subside or become bothersome for proper evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
