What Causes Blurred Vision?

My wife had an eye exam a month ago. Everything was fine. Then two weeks ago, she noticed that her right eye was blurry, not sharp. We went to an optomotrist who check out the eye and saw nothing abnormal. He wants to do more tests, but I want to know if we should seek an MD exam? What could be causing the problem and could it be very serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Health care practitioners in the urgent setting most often do not have the equipment or expertise to perform a comprehensive ophthalmic examination. However, a thorough history and eye examination can help determine the cause of blurred vision. The treatment of acute blurred vision is depends on the specific diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General & Family Physician
