What Causes Blurred Vision Upon Standing?

Often, when I stand from sitting or raise up from bending over I feel faint and my vision becomes cloudy. During periods when I feel like this, I feel weak and the muscles in my shoulders ache. Does this sound like it may be blood pressure related. I take blood pressure medicine and recently have lost 52 lbs.

Hi,

Blurred vision upon standing is suggestive of orthostatic hypotension.

As you are taking high blood pressure (bp), my suspicion is that you are experiencing low bp. Monitor your bp and record the results to pass to your doctor.

Furthermore, you might be using diuretics. They might cause electrolyte imbalance. Should get them checked and treat depending on what's lacking, especially when it comes to taking magnesium, calcium supplements.

Discuss this further with your doctor to make appropriate changes.
