What Causes Bloody Urination While Suffering From Kidney Stones?

yes my husband recently had kidney stones and was in the hospital so they can break them down so he can pass them. its been several weeks now and he is still urinating blood and he claims now it is coming out in clumps. is this something we need to some concern with do I make him go back to the doctors?

Hi,

This can be due to various factors in your case. Stones cause bleeding when these are large. As you are diabetic so you have have nephropathy which can also cause it. Lesions within kidneys can also cause it. As your husband had stones so it appears these are large and large stones cause definitely hematuria.

So there are multiple possibilities in him. It is better to get him properly investigated and find whether it is only stones or other than that which is causing bleeding. So get him consulted by physician as soon as possible.
